Representing, recognizing, uplifting and celebrating! We’re doing a series of posts this season highlighting the future and honoring the past EDM icons… Let’s continue this with some female artists y’all should check out during Women’s History Month! There is an INSANE amount of amazing women, so please keep in mind these are just a few. We couldn’t add them all, but we’ll continue to highlight amazing women in the scene in the next post!
Zingara
Zingara is a DJ and producer from Baltimore, MD that has quickly become a rising star in the bass community. Her music is often described as “Astral Trap” because she combines her love of bass and the spiritual world. She is most known by her single Astra which was released in 2022 and was a massive success on TikTok. Zingara will be starting her second tour ‘Astra II: Into the Mirror’ on March 3rd, 2023.
Canabliss
Canabliss is a Canadian electronic dance music DJ and producer based in Toronto. She has toured internationally, performed at major festivals, and released several EPs on various labels. She has collaborated with acts such as Steve Aoki, Big Gigantic, and Krewella, and has been featured in publications including Complex, VICE, and DJ Mag. Her music has also been featured in official remix packages for artists like 2 Chainz, Diplo, and Deadmau5. She is also the founder of FemmeFatale Management, an artist management and consulting business.
Jessica Audiffred
Jessica Audiffred is a DJ, producer, and entrepreneur from Los Angeles, California. She was named one of the “Top 10 DJs to Watch in 2017” by Billboard. She has also been featured in Vogue, Complex, and LA Weekly. She was the first female DJ to be sponsored by Red Bull and has performed at some of the world’s biggest music festivals including Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Afrojack’s Jacked. She has released numerous singles and remixes and has collaborated with major artists such as Diplo, Major Lazer, and Marshmello. She is also the founder of the Female Music Collective, which is an organization that seeks to empower and promote female artists in the music industry.
Sama AbdulHadi
Sama AbdulHadi is a Palestinian-American DJ and music producer who has achieved international recognition for her work in the Techno scene. She has released music on labels such as Nervous Records, Strictly Rhythm, and Defected Records. Sama AbdulHadi has performed at major music festivals such as Movement Detroit, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Ultra Music Festival. She is also the founder of the popular electronic music blog and podcast, The Middle Eastern Mixer.
ANNA
ANNA is a Brazilian born Techno DJ that has been hitting the decks in the outskirts of São Paulo since she was 14. ANNA is an extremely skilled artist and accomplished selector when it comes to her performances. During the pandemic, ANNA and her partner Wehbba, created Anaweh Studio Masterclass. An online course sharing production tips, tricks and techniques “from building your set up to finishing a complete track, through methods to put you in the right mindset.” She has played in some of the most incredible festivals and venues around the world such as Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Warung, D-Edge and more.
J. Worra
Hailed as DJ Mag’s 2019 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, J.Worra is an American House DJ and producer dominating the scene lately. She has released music on labels such as Higher Ground and Never Worry Records, and has produced a ton of official remixes for Kaskade, Deadmau5, and Sidepiece. As a member of the LGBTQA+ community, J.Worra always works towards putting her community first while rising in her music career.
LEVEL UP
LEVEL UP is a professional DJ and music producer who has achieved notable success in the Dubstep scene. She started out as a battle DJ that studied to become a turntable master. LEVEL UP has released music on some of the world’s most respected electronic music labels (BUYGORE & Deadbeats), played at some of the world’s most prestigious clubs and festivals, and worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. She is a highly respected figure in the electronic music community and is known for her innovative and cutting-edge DJing style.
DJ Soda
DJ Soda is a South Korean DJ, singer, and dancer. She is known for her energetic stage presence, quick mixing and creative use of samples. She has performed in clubs, festivals, and events all over the world, including EDC, Ultra Korea, and Tomorrowland. She is also well-known for her K-Pop remixes, which have gained her a large fan base in Asia. Her most notable major accomplishment is being the first female Korean DJ to perform at EDC Las Vegas in 2018
Lady Faith
Lady Faith is an American electronic dance music artist and DJ from New York City. She is best known for her remixes of popular songs and her collaborations with some of the biggest names in the EDM scene. She has released several chart-topping singles, most notably her collaboration with Tiesto, “Maximal Crazy”, and her 2013 single “Hardstyle Disco”. She has performed at some of the biggest EDM festivals in the world, including Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival and EDC Las Vegas. She also holds residencies at clubs in Europe, America, and Asia. Lady Faith has also been a part of several charity events and is actively involved in animal welfare and conservation.
Uniiqu3
DJ Uniiqu3 is a DJ and music producer from Trenton, New Jersey. She has released music on labels such as Mad Decent, Fool’s Gold, and OWSLA, and has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe. Her music is characterized by its high-energy club-ready sound, and she is known for her skillful mixing and turntablism. She is on a mission to inspire others by proving to the world that you can do whatever you want as long as you work hard and stay true to yourself. She’s been delivering energetic projects including Digital Diva Vol 1 & 2, Phase 3, Club Queens Vol 1 & 2 , Bitches is Outside Vol 1, and her most recent “Heartbeats” out now.
Peggy Gou
Peggy Gou is an artist and DJ from South Korea. She has become an international sensation for her unique blend of deep house and techno music. She has released several EPs, including Once, It Makes You Forget, and Moment. She has also released a full-length album, titled Moment. She has been nominated for the Best Dance/Electronic Album award at the 2020 Grammy Awards, and was named one of the ten most influential Korean artists by Billboard in 2019. She’s performed at many of the world’s top festivals, including Coachella, Ultra, and BPM. She has also become a celebrated fashion icon, having collaborated with major fashion brands such as Nike and Gucci.
Nora En Pure
Nora En Pure is a Swiss DJ and deep house producer. She has become one of the most sought-after female DJs in the world and has achieved several major accomplishments in her career. Nora En Pure has released a number of singles and remixes, including ‘Come With Me’, ‘U Got My Body’, and ‘Saltwater’, which was included in the 2018 Grammy-nominated compilation album, ‘Café Del Mar Dreams’. She has made appearances at major music festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, and Electric Daisy Carnival, and has been nominated for several awards, including MTV’s ‘Best Electronic Act’ and the International Dance Music Awards ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’.
Charlotte de Witte
Charlotte de Witte is a Belgian techno DJ and producer who has been described as one of the most influential and dominant figures in the techno scene. Her work is characterized by hard-hitting basslines and dark atmospheres, and she is known for her energetic and intense live performances. She has made major accomplishments in the EDM scene, including being the first female artist to hold the number one spot on Beatport’s Top 100 chart, being featured in the DJ Mag Top 100 poll, and hosting her own radio show on BBC Radio 1. She was the first woman to ever close out the mainstage at Tomorrowland! She has also headlined other major festivals like Ultra Music Festival, and collaborated with renowned producers such as Adam Beyer and Maceo Plex.
Clozee
Clozee is a French electronic music producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist. She has toured across the world, playing festivals such as Shambhala, Lightning in a Bottle, and Coachella, and released three EPs, “Evasion,” “Kuku,” and “Neon Jungle.” Her track “Koto,” which was featured in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, has millions of streams worldwide. She has collaborated with artists such as Bassnectar, Odesza, and Griz, and has remixed tracks from artists such as Big Gigantic. She was named “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” at the 2017 Electronic Music Awards.
Rezz
Isabelle Rezazedah mostly known as Rezz is a Ukrainian-Canadian electronic music artist who has released music on labels such as Mau5trap and on Skrillex’s Nest HQ.Rezz has won 2 Juno awards for Electronic Album of the Year and has once again been nominated this year for her insane LP ‘Nightmare on Rezz Street 2 Mix’. On October 4th 2022, founded her own label ‘HypnoVizion’ and has already released music for artists Isqa, Eddie, and Lūn with many more to come.
